THREE GLACIER GIANTS
New this event, we have "Set Buildings."
Set buildings are buildings which link together for a greater benefit. With set buildings, only one building in the set needs a road connection; the rest only need to touch any of the rest of the set.
Some Set Buildings are offered as daily prizes throughout the event, and one of them is the 2nd Grand Prize.
HOW DO THEY WORK?
To get the maximum bonus, ensure each set building is touching at least 3 other unique buildings.
Note a suggested layout above.
♦ If only one building is in the set, only the base payout is received.
♦ If the building touches one other set building, the 1st link bonus is activated.
♦ If the building is touching two other set buildings, the 2nd link bonus is activated.
♦ If the building is touching three other set buildings, the 3rd link bonus is activated.
The bonus earned is given on top of any previous bonuses earned. Hover over the placed building to see how many link bonuses have been activated.
Note how it will appear when there is no bonus:
And when one bonus has been activated:
Note how the production window displays which bonuses have been activated as well:
PLACING SET BUILDINGS
With one of each building, it is possible to place the buildings in such a way that 2 of the buildings will be able to achieve maximum bonus level. Note how many bonuses each building would earn if placed in the manner suggested by the set building picture provided to us:
The bonus is only activated by UNIQUE buildings.
This means that if two giant hands are placed next to each other, neither will receive the bonus.
Similarly, if a Frozen Fountain is placed to touch both of them, only one of them will activate a bonus.
It is not effective to place multiples of the same building next to each other. The set is only valuable if a variety of buildings are used.
With more than one of any of the daily prize buildings, you may be able to get 3 or 4 buildings to maximum level.
Note how many bonuses can be achieved if say, 2 Frozen Fountains are able to be won in addition to each of the other set buildings:
MOVING SET BUILDINGS
Once the set buildings are in place, they will begin production and be ready for collection in 24 hours.
Note that if you change the set in any way, by moving any of the buildings in the set, this will restart the production:

The good type that is given as the base payout varies based on your boosted good, but is not your boosted good. It is the NEXT good after your boosted good.
♦ If your boost is Marble, the building will give Steel.
♦ If your boost is Steel, the building will give Planks.
♦ If your boost is Planks, the building will give Marble.
The good types given for the links bonuses are the same for all regardless of boost.
Available Day 6 -
December 8 at 6 pm EST - December 9 at 5:59 pm EST
The 4th building in the set is the 2nd Grand Prize - Ice Mountain Troll:
The new set buildings are included in the beta version of elvenarchitect. You can play around with various arrangements to see how they might work in your city at www.elvenarchitect.com
THE FOUR-BUILDING SET TOTAL VALUE BY CHAPTER
These are the total values by chapter of the 4 building set, if set up in the manner suggested.
With 4 buildings, it is possible for two of them to achieve 3 bonus levels, and two of them to achieve 2 bonus levels.
You may prefer a different arrangement based on your priorities, in which case the following values would be different.
The culture value alone tends to surpass the best free available alternatives for most chapters.
When considering the additional bonuses on top of the culture, it is conclusive from a purely mathematical perspective that the set is obviously a greater value than the free alternatives otherwise available for all chapters.
Whether the technically higher value is enough to be worth making space for all 4 buildings, however, will be subjective based on each player's preferences and priorities.
At each chapter, the culture value per square of the 4-building set is superior to any free alternative until one chapter later.
At each chapter, the coins produced by the 4-building set is roughly equivalent to about one residence, up to at most two for some lower chapters.
For the later chapters, the supplies are a mere favor and not a main attraction by any means, producing less than half of a regular workshop with no culture bonus.
For earlier chapters, however they can add up nicely, and the set can provide as much as 1-2 workshops' worth of supplies in 24 hours.
With all 3 bonus levels activated, the building is slightly higher production than the Orc's Nest for each chapter 8 and beyond, and a little less than double the culture.
With 2 bonus levels activated, the mana output of the small 2x3 Frozen Fountain is equivalent to about 2/3rds of a grape farm and 1/2 of a library.
It is better than any other mana building offered so far at 23-41 per square per hour and higher based on arrangement.
